Amsterdam
Transport - The city has excellent tram and
bus services that are very inexpensive and very efficient.
You can buy single tickets from bus, tram and metro
drivers. They do suggest buying tickets in advance.
Getting around on a bike is also very good. A lot
of the local people use bikes as their way of transportation
around the city.
Another great way around the city is by Canal
Bus. It is very relaxing and day tickets
allow you to get on and off the train as often as
you like. The taxis are taken from taxi rank and a
10% tip is the usual. Trams are another way to get
around the city and they are fast and dependable.
If you need to reach the Schiphol Airport
there are trains day and night, six times
an hour through the day. A taxi to the airport will
take about 10 minutes and when your ticket is stamped
it is valid for an hour. Trains are fast, frequent,
and cheap. Walking is also very good because the city
is very small.
Getting
around the city is easy then, you will have ample
means to take you around to all the wonderful Attractions
in Amsterdam. You will be able to spend many
hours getting to and from at low rates. If you do
need to rent a car they are available, but be sure
you have good maps along for your travels and pay
attention to all the parking and highway signs. You
will need to be very aware if you will be driving.
Whichever way you choose to get around the city we
hope that you enjoy all that you can while you are
in the City of Amsterdam. It is a
fantastic city and we are sure that you will agree.
